3rd -ROUNDTABLE Meeting – 7:00PM

Quanah Parker District Committee & Roundtable

Steve, Gemma, and myself, would like to invite every Unit Leader to attend our new for 2014 Program Agenda. Thursday, March 3rd, at 7:00PM is all about a year of Trained Leaders. Each Roundtable will have a half out of breakout sessions for Cub Leader Specific Training, and Boy Scout Leader Specific Training. After 4 Roundtable Trainings Cub Leaders will be officially “Trained”. Scputmasters will still need the Outdoor part of training.

Gemma and the Unit Commissioners will be contacting everyone by phone to try and have an accurate count for attendees. Any snacks and grub are welcome, and encouraged. This year will be a great year of new beginnings and opportunities.

The Key 3 looks forward to seeing everyone Thursday.

Camp Cards

Camp Cards are a great, and easy, way for your unit to make money for camp and other program activities for the summer. Contact Chase Roach for more details if needed. Everyone is super excited about selling this year, and remember every card you sell puts $2.50 in your unit account. I encourage you to schedule times at Grocery Stores, etc. to sell. Several units made very good money doing this last year. Take their cash and hand them their card. Super Easy, and good exposure for Scouts and your unit. Remember to always be in uniform.

QP District Pinewood Derby

The District Pinewood Derby was a huge success. We had 50 cars and 4 heats of races. Troop 1776 did a great job of having food and snacks for everyone to enjoy. Fun was had by all. We gave out over 20 Trophy to lots of winners and everyone received a ribbon for racing. We also gave over 10 door prizes away to everyone that attended.

The new place was incredible and everyone is excited to start planning for next year. Art Perez did a fantastic job organizing the entire event. Way to go QP Volunteers.

QP District Show and Do

The first annual Show and Do was a huge success. We had over 5 troops and a few adults that had lots of hands on fun stuff for Scouts and visitors alike. There were several visitors throughout the day and everyone had a great time. The weather was perfect with just a little breeze.

Planning will begin this Thursday for next years Show and Do. Come and be a part of something so great for Scouts and the community.
