District News

Dalhart Fun-in-the-Sun Camp

On June 15th, 2013, the Dalhart Fun-in-the-Sun Camp happened in the park. 16 youth from packs 41, 46, and 146 showed up, and, approximately 28 adults. The Dalhart Fire Department attended and showed the Scouts how to play their version of water polo. The kids also shot BB guns, participated in archery, and made rockets and raced them in a space derby. All in all, I would say everybody had a great time!

Spearman Fun-in-the-Sun Camp

On July 20th, 2013, we will be having the Spearman Fun-in-the-Sun one day camp at the city park. We would love to see everyone attend. There will be archery, BB guns, swimming, and a space derby! Come out and have some fun! To get the early bird special, sign up before July 28th! See you there, Lone Wolf Scouts!

LONE WOLF CAMPING AND ACTIVITY CORNER-Lake Rita Blanca State Park

Lone Wolf recently had one of its one-day camps in Dalhart, near Lake Rita Blanca State Park. This would be a great place to check out. There are trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding. There is fishing in the pond, and a great park for picnics and other outdoor recreational activities. In Dalhart, you will find the museum. I would recommend this to anybody who loves ranching and the history of the Panhandles. Two of the most recent Lone Wolf additions to the rank of Eagle Scout also completed their Eagle Projects in conjunction with one another to better parts of the park. All in all, it’s a great place for all Scouts!
