Quanah Parker District Committee & Roundtable

March was a phenomenal Roundtable meeting with Camp Card Kickoff. 99% of QP’s units were in attendance, and ready to get started. Tim White, our new District Chair, did an incredible job of running the meeting, and keeping everyone on track. Way to go, Tim!! Thanks to everyone that helped and attended. All participants left with lots of great ideas to spawn into action.

The April District Roundtable is the GO TO place for the Fun Activity discussions for Cubs and Scouts. We will discuss all the details for a summer of fun, and events to not miss in the next few months. We set records for activity attendance last year, and we have more excitement than ever in QP for Scouting!! —the boys deserve it.

Quanah Parker District Pinewood Derby

The Quanah Parker District Pinewood Derby was the go to place for all Quanah Parker District Pinewood FUN!! We had 79 entries, 4 heats, and lots of great close races!! We out grew the Kwahadi Kiva last year; so, this year it was at the Outreach Center at Christian Heritage Church (900 S. Nelson) There were several Cub Scout divisions, an Open Division, and last but not least a Leader Division. Oh, and did I mention lots of AWARDS! Kagen M. from Pack 39, in Dumas, was our over-all winner. His car burned up the track all day!! Way to go Kagen.

There were lots of cool cars, and lots of great races!! Greg Anderson did a fantastic job organizing and planning the event with our District Committee. Tim White was our MC, and kept everything flowing smooth all day!! Pack 82’s track worked very well, and our new race track style seating arrangement was AWESOME!! The races could be seen from all angles. It was definitely the best QP Race to date.

Thanks to Steve Rodriguez, and Christian Heritage Church for hosting our event, and  having a concession stand for snacks all day. The Outreach Center was a perfect venue.

Scouting for Food was also Great!! We turned in over 235 lbs of food from the Pinewood Derby Entries. Thank you so very much from the Food Bank!!
