July Calendar:

No Scheduled Events

Successful Fritch Twilight Camp

Woody Mihm, Roper Cox, and Mike Albus put on a great day camp in June! The Cub Scouts did archery, shot BB guns, and got creative with a craft all three days.  Many of the parents gave thanks and praise to Mike Albus and how he instructed the scouts in archery.  At the end of the camp the scouts received awards for what they had accomplished the past three days.

Camp MK Brown 2010

Many of the Adobe Walls Boy Scout Troops attended camp this year. There wasn’t a bad turn out for being a National Jamboree year!  It was great to see so many units from the area together in one place.  Camps like this, and national events such as the Jamboree this year, help to remind us we are not the Boy Scouts of Pampa, or Borger, or Wheeler, or Miami, or any other individual unit.  We are the Boy Scouts of America.

Note from the new District Executive

I am excited to be on board with the Boy Scouts and look forward to getting to know all the volunteers in the district. Since there hasn’t been a DE in about 6 months I want to recognize some of the volunteers who have helped keep Adobe Walls functioning by helping with the Friends of Scouting campaign. Great thanks go out to John Curry, Joe Hillhouse, Mike Amos, Ben Ed Hillhouse, Larry Smith, Landon Landry, and the many others I have not got a chance to meet with! We reached about 80% of our fundraising goal this year for the district, which is pretty good without a district executive, so kudos to those who helped! I am confident we will be at 100% next year because we have such great people on board.  I would also like to recognize Joe Weaver, Katrina Bigham, and Mike Ruff for being friendly and helpful to me as I have just moved to Pampa.  I’ve seen great things so far and look forward to seeing more and more in the future!
